Curse of the Gods

The curse saga begins with gods, paranormal forces, and the humans caught in their supernatural games. Magic and danger permeate a paranormal romance where destiny and choice collide. This first book establishes a paranormal world rich with mythology and stakes.

Everything You Need to Know About Curse of the Gods

Two mortals are cursed by the gods: Alexa, a warrior with incredible strength but a death sentence, and Jericho, a slave forced to fight in arenas. They meet when the gods' games collide them together, and their curse is linked, if one dies, the other follows. Forced to trust each other, they uncover that the gods are dying, and the mortals are being tested as potential replacements. The romance is survival; the plot is mythology-driven.

Dual POV with distinct voices, Alexa's determination contrasts with Jericho's sharp humor. The curse mechanic is clever, forcing connection without instalove. The arena scenes are grounded, not glorified. The mythology feels fresh because the gods aren't all-powerful anymore. Pacing moves fast without sacrificing character moments.

Violence in fighting arenas, slavery, divine punishment, blood curses, character death (not the mains), sexual content.

Neither Alexa nor Jericho dies, but multiple secondary characters close to them do. The gods aren't actually dying, they're selecting heirs. One of the gods is revealed to be testing them from inside the curse itself. The ending isn't a win; it's acceptance of a new status quo where Alexa and Jericho are caught between mortal and divine.

If you liked Cruel Beauty or Radiance for twisted mythology romance. For readers who want high-stakes consequences. Comp to Marie Rutkoski's work for the game-playing gods angle. NOT for readers who need their gods powerful and untouchable, or who want a standalone.

Book 1 of 5. Sequel hooks are there, but the romantic arc has resolution. Start here.
