Ava meets a powerful, protective billionaire whose possessive love borders on dangerous, and she's torn between thrilled and terrified. His obsession with her is absolute, and she finds herself craving his dark intensity despite every warning sign. A dark romance exploring what happens when love consumes everything.

Everything You Need to Know About Twisted Love

Alex Volkov is a billionaire tech CEO with a surgically controlled life. Cold. Calculating. Hiding something brutal in his past. Ava Chen, his best friend Josh's little sister, has been around since college, always grinning, always warm. When she moves into his building, Alex is tasked with "keeping an eye on her." He keeps a lot more than an eye. What starts as obsessive protection becomes something darker, needier, and neither of them can stop it.

This is dark romance done right, Alex is genuinely unsettling (controlling, possessive, manipulative) but Huang never excuses him, and Ava isn't passive. She pushes back, calls him out, and has her own agency even in a power imbalance. The banter is sharp. The smut is *explicit* and central to how they communicate. Huang's prose is clean and fast, you'll finish this in one sitting. The twist in the middle hits different.

Sexual assault (brief, referenced), financial coercion, obsessive/controlling behavior, power imbalance, explicit sexual content (S3), emotional manipulation, references to past trauma.

Alex's past involves a woman he loved who betrayed him, that's the scar driving his control. Ava discovers his surveillance and rage happens, but she doesn't leave; they have to rebuild trust on harder ground. The twist is that Josh knew about Alex's feelings all along and was testing whether Alex could be better. By the end, Alex is still possessive but aware of his patterns, and Ava has leverage, the relationship is darker but more honest.

Dark romance readers who get the appeal of a morally gray love interest. If you want spice (S3) and don't mind a possessive, obsessed hero, this is your book. *Not* for readers uncomfortable with financial power imbalances, control dynamics, or dubious consent vibes. Not for people who need a hero to be *good*, Alex is toxic, and the book knows it.

Twisted Love is the first in the Twisted series. Stands alone romantically, but Josh gets his own book later (Twisted Games). You don't need to read in order.
